Your technician will be happy to explain in detail the fact that when you install a new outdoor unit, it must be matched correctly to the indoor unit. The Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio or SEER rating for your AC equipment measures how efficiently it works, and the more efficient your units, the lower your operating costs.

You need to match the outdoor and indoor units to have the same rating. Modern units must have a SEER rating of at least 13. If your indoor unit has a lower rating, such as 8, it will not work well with a more efficient outdoor unit, and you will need to replace it as well.
